Facelift in Geneva

The signs of time and gravity can appear on the face in the form of loose, sagging skin, wrinkles, folds, and creases. People often say that they feel much younger than they look. A facelift performed by Geneva plastic surgeon Dr. Kai-Uwe Schlaudraff can renew your face while keeping a natural look that is better aligned with how you feel. This procedure often increases self-confidence for our patients as well.

Dr. Schlaudraff is board certified by the Swiss and the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and a member of ISAPS. He uses advanced facial plastic surgery techniques at his Concept Clinic in Geneva, Switzerland. Facelift Candidates

Ideal facelift candidates are healthy women and men who are typically age 40 to 65. This procedure improves the lower two-thirds of the face from the ears to the cheeks and down to the jaw line. A neck lift is often performed as well to tighten loose skin and correct vertical banding, as well as an endoscopic brow lift to rejuvenate the eye area.

Your Consultation

During the consultation, Dr. Schlaudraff will ask you to describe what you'd like to improve about your face. Patients with minimal sagging can often attain the improvements they desire from a less invasive mini face lift, which involves shorter incisions and a quicker recovery period. For a more complete facial rejuvenation patients can combine their face lift with a brow lift to enhance the upper face.

Stem Cell Facial Rejuvenation

In addition to conventional facial plastic surgery procedures, patients who visit the Concept Clinic can choose advanced facial contouring through cell-enriched fat grafts. Dr. Schlaudraff can enhance facelift results by adding or restoring volume to the cheeks, chin, and other areas of the face with fat that is removed from another area of the body, then treated and injected into an area of the face. Dr. Schlaudraff uses a technique that maximizes survival of transferred cells for a naturally enhanced and lasting rejuvenation.

Surgical Procedure

Dr. Schlaudraff performs facelift surgery in a state-of-the-art surgery center while the patient is under general anesthesia. He takes care to conceal the incisions within the hairline and along the natural creases of the face. Loose facial muscles are tightened, and excess fat and skin are removed. Normally, patients are hospitalized for 2 to 3 days for optimal recovery.

Recovery & Results

Patients will return home with bandages on the face and neck, but usually do not experience significant pain. Swelling and bruising can be minimized by keeping the head elevated at all times for the first few days, even while sleeping. Most patients can resume normal activities 10 to 14 days after surgery and strenuous exercise after approximately 4 weeks. After your surgery, it is important to use sunscreen at all times when outdoors and to avoid sudden increases of your blood pressure during the first 4 weeks after surgery. While a facelift can help you look years younger, Dr. Schlaudraff strives to preserve your unique, natural beauty.
