Breast Lift in Geneva
The volume and shape of the female breast change during pregnancy, childbirth, and nursing. Weight changes and aging can affect breast appearance, as well. When the breast loses volume, it looks empty and starts to sag. A breast lift allows Geneva plastic surgeon Dr. Kai-Uwe Schlaudraff to lift the breast and restore a youthful, firm shape and appearance.
Dr. Schlaudraff offers advanced breast enhancement procedures at his Concept Clinic in Geneva. To learn more about breast lift surgery, request a consultation online with Dr. Schlaudraff, or phone the office at +41-22-54-000-54.
Breast Lift Candidates
While a breast lift can restore a firm, youthful breast shape to heavy breasts that sag, it can also reshape breasts that have lost volume and appear flattened. Some women require breast augmentation using silicone implants or a natural breast augmentation through cell-enriched fat grafting in addition to a breast lift to attain the breast shape they desire. For women whose breasts have mainly lost volume but do not really sag, breast augmentation alone often provides sufficient improvement. Some women combine a breast lift with breast reduction, for breasts that are lighter and better positioned.
Your Consultation
During the consultation, Dr. Schlaudraff will ask you what you'd like to change about your breasts and how you want them to look after surgery. He will examine your breasts and carefully evaluate the quality of the skin, fatty tissue, breast glands, and pectoralis muscle. He will also measure breast volume, width, shape, and projection and note the nipple size and position, the height of the mammary fold, and any breast asymmetries or chest abnormalities. These details will enable Dr. Schlaudraff to advise you about the different surgical options for your breast lift and to explain which is most appropriate for your particular needs.
Surgical Procedure
Dr. Schlaudraff performs breast lift surgery in a state-of-the-art surgery center usually under general anesthesia. Using the shortest incisions possible, he reshapes and elevates the nipple/areola, removes excess breast skin, tightens the remaining skin, and remodels and lifts the breast glands. The procedure takes about 1 to 2 hours. It might be organised as an outpatient procedure or during an overnight hospitalisation.
Recovery
Dr. Schlaudraff's breast lift patients usually have very little postoperative pain. You will be required to wear a sports bra to stabilize and support the breasts for about 4 weeks while they heal. Patients usually can go back to normal, non-strenuous activities 1 to 2 weeks after surgery, but will need to avoid strenuous exercise for about 4 to 8 weeks.
Your Results
After healing from breast lift surgery, Dr. Schlaudraff's patients are pleased with their improved breast shape. Although the scars are initially noticeable, they gradually fade and appear faint after 12 to 24 months.
